How the maths works
Reconstitution does not change how much peptide is in the vial — it only changes how concentrated it is. A 5 mg vial holds 5 mg whether you add 1 ml or 3 ml of bacteriostatic water.
Concentration = peptide (mcg) ÷ water (ml). A 5 mg vial with 2 ml gives 5,000 ÷ 2 = 2,500 mcg/ml.
Volume to draw = dose (mcg) ÷ concentration (mcg/ml). A 250 mcg dose at 2,500 mcg/ml is 0.1 ml.
Syringe units — a 100-unit insulin syringe holds 1 ml, so one unit is 0.01 ml. 0.1 ml therefore reads as 10 units. On a 50-unit (0.5 ml) syringe one unit is also 0.01 ml, but the barrel only holds half as much.
Choose a water volume that puts your typical draw between roughly 10 and 50 units — small enough to measure accurately, large enough to read off the barrel without guesswork.
